pointer only moves after first activity

I have installed hideaway on a raspberry pi 4b running bookworm and it works just as intended, except if I don't touch the mouse after the system booted up, the pointer won't get moved to the corner as expected. If I move the mouse slightly, then after that it does what it's supposed to do. Is there any way to trigger the movement even if the mouse hasn't moved just yet? I would like to boot into the system and not have the mouse pointer in the middle of the screen.
