Mockup donation page for Native Mac OS packaging
SFC has created a new paypal button we can use to collect donations targeted towards native Mac OS packaging work. We need a web page added to the website with messaging written for what donations to this fund will be used for, and why native packaging is important to Inkscape users.
Donation Type | hosted_button_id | Funding Purpose |
---|---|---|
Mac | 8UTANMA6XUMDW | Native Mac OS packaging, Mac-specific UI integration, and stabilization work for the Mac platform |

See the attached CSV with all the requested button types and their corresponding hosted_button_id values. You can use the same HTML that you use for all your current buttons for these new buttons too; just change the value of the hidden hosted_button_id parameter to match what you want, and you’re good to go.
For reference, the code for one of our current buttons:
<form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post"><input type="hidden" value="_s-xclick" name="cmd"> <input type="hidden" value="VRQMKRX9TCDSW" name="hosted_button_id"> <input alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_donateCC_LG.gif" type="image" name="submit"> <img height="1" src="https://www.paypal.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" class="pygzexfbnpvrmtelraot kooclofgteyzqkpfkenv"></form>
The master issue for this feature is inkscape/inkscape#84 (closed); please see that for details of the kinds of work that will be needed. The primary objective of this fund will be to gather resources that can be utilized towards getting this issue to a finished state (we don't know precisely what work could be / should be funded, so specifics are still a bit TBD). Funding beyond that can be used for subsequent stability and other mac-specific improvements to be determined later on.
The Inkscape Board will hold a vote to approve this before it goes live, so hold off on publishing until the board gives that go-ahead.
