Create a stronger link between Inkscape and illustrators/designers.
I was looking today for some illustrators/designers and got some ideas that could improve the link between Inkscape and them.
First inspiration: There is a social network of Adobe named Behance. It's a very consolidated place to post design and illustration work. The most important thing that makes Behance better than other social networks is the "feature" thing, that is galleries with curators that choose the "best" works from different segments of the creative area, like graphic design, branding, editorial, illustration, interaction... and set them with a "featured badge", making the project reach a lot of people.
Second inspiration: There is a lot of Instagram profiles that feature the "best" projects of design/illustration on the social network. With a quick search, we can see that, until today, where posted 63.389 photos with the hashtag #inkscape.
An idea that could be implemented very quickly is to create an official Inkscape profile on Instagram to reach and feature the illustrators and designers that are using the tool and posting their works. I think that a curatorship could be good to not flood followers.
Another idea, to reach beginners as well, it's to improve our learning area. The most updated tutorial is from 2007, and there is no theoretic info about design/illustration. Reach some academy teachers and talk with them about the possibility of record an open class to post on the Inkscape youtube channel could be a great move to improve community involvement and Inkscape relevance in open source activism.
Remembering that anything we do to improve our reach influences directly Inkscape 1.0 launch.
