But some workflows prefer to use always past on top ( mostly for duplicating ). IMHO I would say this should get in (Inkscape) and be default behavior which can be turned off in preferences (to original behavior) probably most useful implementation fo this feature would look like this  ### Actionable steps We could do another User testing with a protocol which would look like this: - Give user build of Inkscape with B behavior https://gitlab.com/inkscape/inkscape/-/merge_requests/2476 - explain how pasting on to of selected works (not sure if we should or should not do this step ) - Ask subjects to try to make A look like a B - observe - Ask subject to try to make C look like D - observe
