Inkscape Redesign with GTK4
Proposal:
I present a redesign of the Inkscape interface using GTK4. The goal is to modernize the user experience, prioritizing minimalism and usability.
Image
Details of the Redesign:
- Minimalism: The interface has been simplified, removing redundant elements and optimizing the layout for clarity and organization.
- Usability: The layout of elements and icons has been carefully planned to facilitate access to Inkscape's tools and features.
- Consistency: The design follows the HIG, ensuring a consistent visual experience with other modern applications of Gnome.
- Familiarity: The position of the tools has been maintained to facilitate the adaptation of experienced users.
Availability:
I am willing to collaborate with the Inkscape team to finalize the redesign.
Benefits of the Redesign:
- More modern and intuitive interface
- Improved user experience
- Greater visual consistency with other applications
Request:
I would like to know the community's opinion on the redesign. I believe that this change will bring benefits to Inkscape and its users.
Additional Comments:
- The "Mesh Tool" and some "Align and Distribute" tools do not have new Adwaita icons developed, and I also did not take the time to create an alternative myself, but they can be implemented in the future.
- The design is still under development and can be adjusted according to community feedback.
Feedback:
Please share your thoughts on the redesign in the comments below. I am open to feedback and suggestions to improve the design.
Thank you!
Edit: I removed all references to LibAdwaita from the text, as I had misunderstood what LibAdwaita was. The idea was to use the new style only, not to force the use of the lib: LibAdwaita.
