All tools are unusable when using Wayland with a Gnome3 desktop
Steps to reproduce:
- Run Inkscape on a GNOME3 desktop with Wayland
- Simply try drawing a rectangle
- Once you succeeded to draw a rectangle, try to stretch it; same problem here
What happened?
9 out of the 10 dragging events or so are not registered properly
What should have happened?
A rectangle should have been drawn, on each click and drag operation.
This problem doesn't occur when using Xorg instead of Wayland; I've tested this on two different systems, one running Ubuntu GNOME and the other one Fedora (see the details below)
Inkscape Version and Operating System:
- Inkscape Version: 1.0alpha (ab482654, 2019-04-22)
- Operating System: Fedora 30 (system used to be Fedora 25, up-to-date, which showed the same problem; did a clean install of Fedora 30 only a few days ago)
Inkscape Version and Operating System:
- Inkscape Version: 1.0alpha from the inkscape-trunk ppa
- Operating System: Ubuntu GNOME 18.04.2 LTS
I'm not able to record a screencast that includes a mouse point on Gnome3 with Wayland, so I recorded one with my smartphone. Sorry for the low quality
