Translation process for Inkscape
The main source of truth for translation and tips is on https://inkscape.org/contribute/translations/

The inkscape.pot in the repository is not always rarely up to date, always download the one from the translation job of the latest CI run of the branch you are targeting.
If everything is working as intended, a permalink should be here : translations.zip and should contain an up-to-date inkscape.pot and current translation files
You can use the potfile and pofile in this archive with poedit or a similar translation app, and get an updated <yourlanguagecode>.po file (e.g. "es.po" for spanish)
How to submit a translation for the master branch
- Comment in this MR, attaching the file in your comment. You can answer a previous message by yourself to create a thread about one language, or post a new thread, anything. Do not attach files that are not po files, Do not attach "tests" in this MR. You can ask questions in the translators mailing list
- That's it. That's literally it. Thanks for your contribution!
- This only submits it for the 1.4.x branch, and will NOT be used in releases after that, which are currently in the master branch, with slightly different strings. The relevant MR is !6714 (merged) .
How to use (for maintainers)
- Merge the MR to include contributed translations.
- Reopen the MR.
