export-id to pdf with page-size="exported object's size": bad results
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- create a rectangle not in the centre of the canvas. Note the id (its
rect10
for me) - save file and close. I've named the file
drawing.svg
-
inkscape --export-id="rect10" drawing.svg --export-file=drawing2.pdf
Edit: orinkscape --actions="export-id:rect10;export-filename:drawing2.pdf;export-do" drawing.svg
What happened?
Often produces a blank svg. On import to inkscape, there is an empty group. Note that it is resized to the object's dimensions.
What should have happened?
File exports to pdf, resized appropriately, or at least like in 0.92.4
inkscape --export-id="rect10" drawing.svg --export-pdf=drawing924.pdf
More investigation
I found that when perfectly centred in the canvas, exporting the file creates pdf file where a rectangle is visible.
There may be issues with scaling too? I tried a bigger rectangle initially and it produces a pdf with a correctly proportioned canvas, but the rectangle was too small bigrect.pdf, bigrect.svg This may be related to 0.92.4 behaviour, see inbox#110 (moved)
Inkscape Version and Operating System:
Using Linux Mint 19.1, tested on:
Compared to inkscape 0.92.3 (ppa), 0.92.4 (flatpak), and 0.92.x (cb555bdc, near HEAD) (build)
