When selected from Layers Dialog, temporarily hide Bounding Boxes ('F' Key) doesn't work

Summary:

There is a keyboard shortcut to temporarily hide the dashed lines that indicate the bounding boxes, it is the 'F' key.

But if you are selecting objects from Layers and Objects, this doesn't work. (unless you then switch tools)

Steps to reproduce:

  • Open Inkscape.
  • In Preferences, Show selection cue is checked. Per-object selection cue is set to 'Box'. (default settings)
  • Have an object in a document.
  • Click item(s) in the Layers and Objects panel to select them. (doesn't matter what tool you have selected)
  • Hold down the 'F' key on keyboard.

What happened?

The dashed lines do not get hidden.

What should have happened?

The bounding box should hide while the key is held down, just like when it does when you have directly selected something on the canvas.
