Main window does not resize by dragging the corner, Mac Intel

Summary:

Hello! I'm using the latest version of Inkscape, 1.2.1 on a Mac Intel i9. When attempting to resize the document window, dragging the lower right corner does nothing. The cursor changes to a diagonal double-headed arrow -- a good sign that it wants to do something. Dragging does not change the window size. In order to resize the document window, I need to drag the right edge and the bottom edge separately.

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• make new document
• hover on bottom right corner of document window so that cursor changes to 2d resize arrows
• click and drag

What happened?

nothing. the window does not resize.

What should have happened?

the window should resize
