1.2: please change versioning convention and provide civilised dist source URL
Please stop using last commit and release date in version string. Last commit hash is in git repo where version tag is on exact hash. Release date is in documentation and in mtime of the files in dist tar ball. None of other project is using such odd versioning.
BTW. between 1.1.2 and 1.2 that versioning convention has changes (again) because dist ttar ball was https://inkscape.org/gallery/item/31668/inkscape-1.1.2.tar.xz and now is https://inkscape.org/gallery/item/33449/inkscape-1.2_2022-05-15_dc2aedaf03.tar.xz
Second thing is that as now it is possible to detect tah new version has been released it is completly NOT POSSIBLE automatically detect what will be base URL from where i spossible to downlaod new version.
Versioning convention cound be changed from current INKSCAPE-<version_with_underscores>
to just <version>
or inkscape-<version>
where <version>
are digits with dots.
Please make those things automation friendly.
