Selection box gets stuck after Shift+middle click drag with the page tool

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• switch to page tool
• hold shift and middle button and drag from left down to top bottom

What happened?

selection box is stacked

What should have happened?

nothing ? /pan on canvas
