Description in Object Properties is not stored

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • draw a rectangle
  • open the Layer and Objects dock
  • right click on the rectangle (that is drawn on layer 1)
  • select "Object properties"
  • change values for ID, Label, Title, Highlight Color
  • type some content in the Description field.
  • click somewhere else than on the rectangle to deselect it
  • click on the rectangle to reselect it

What happened?

  • ID, label, title and highlight color are all stored
  • the content of the "Description field" is not stored
  • other fields store their value upon leaving the field
  • after pressing the "Set" button, the description seems stored.

What should have happened?

  • when removing focus from the description field, the content of this value should be stored (like the other object properties)
  • if it is not desirable (for whatever reason) to autosave this content...
    1. a warning should appear that you are about to loose date and
    2. the "Set" button should appear closer related to this field and be more prominent.
