Windows installer: Inconsistent setting of registry keys between NSIS and MSI installer
When installing Inkscape on Windows via the NSIS built installer (file extension: .exe) some registry keys are set which can be used to determine the install location:
They can be found in : HKLM\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Inkscape\Inkscape
or SOFTWARE\Inkscape\Inkscape
However, when the MSI built installer (file extension: .msi) is used these registry keys are not set. Additionally I cannot find anything useful in HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\App Paths
as recommended by Microsoft in this document.
So is there any way to reliably determine where Inkscape is installed from the registry? I need this for some checks during installation of the TexText extension.
Relates to Inkscape 1.0.x 64-bit Tested on Windows 10 and 8.1 64-bit
