Selecting examples/flowsample.svg in the Open dialog causes crash

Steps to reproduce:

Open the Open dialog from the menu
Select the file flowsample.svg from the examples directory

Result: crash

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

Inkscape version: master
Operating system: Chrome OS 74 (Linux container - Debian Stretch)
