SVG images in the gallery are not displayed at the proper proportions in Internet Explorer
Migrated from https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape-web/+bug/1432911
I'm migrating this because can't confirm whether this has been fixed, because I don't have a current version of IE for testing. I've tested with my version, which is IE 11. It's fully updated, but I'm pretty sure there's a newer version. Oh....or for Windows 10, maybe it's not even called IE anymore?? (I'm on Windows 7.) In any case, the problem is not fixed for IE 11, and I'm hoping that migrating will bring enough attention for someone to test with a current MS browser, whatever they call it now.
IE 11 does not display SVG images in the gallery in their proper proportions. The old report indicates it's a problem with how the website displays SVG images in IE (and not other browsers).
Steps to reproduce:
- For a non-high-dpi screen, such as a regular laptop
- Open IE (or whatever the MS browser might be called now)
- Browse to this page: https://inkscape.org/~brynn/%E2%98%85symbols-in-091
- Click to see the full size view
If you have a high-dpi screen or a very large monitor, either I'm guessing you won't be able to test this; or else I suspect we would need to find a much wider image for testing. Let me know if a wider image is needed and I'll be glad to upload one.
What happened?
If the problem is not fixed, you will see the image is no longer showing the proper proportions. It will appear to be squeezed in from side to side (or stretched top to bottom).
What should have happened?
If the problem is fixed, you will see the image in its proper proportions.
System Info
- Internet Explorer 11
- Windows 7 Pro, 64-bit
Thank you very much!
