provide an easier way for website visitors to contact the development community
There really needs to be some way for Inkscape website visitors to contact the development community directly, for professional or development purposes. The forum/website Inkscape Community seems to be the only way they can find to contact anyone (presumably via the link on the Community page). (Yes, shortly the mailing list will be receiving the redirection of the most recent attempt.)
I would suggest a "Contact Us" text link in the footer, or perhaps a separate section on the Develop page, perhaps titled "Custom Development" or something like that? If such a link is generating an intolerable amount of frivolous mail, I would volunteer to screen that mail, as a moderator.
It's just that explaining the 3rd party forum relationship is taking too much time for me. Even if I'm the same person who is handling those incoming messages, handling them as a representative of the website would take much less explanation, than handling it from a 3rd party forum.
I don't know, I'm starting to wonder if the new forum is ever going to happen, and it still might end up that Inkscape Community becomes that new forum. But even if it does, it seems more proper for website visitors to have some way to contact the development community directly, without going through any forum, official or not.
Thank you very much :-)
