Krita is a software that is gaining momentum as a open-source software, and in some ways, Krita is already better than Photoshop, and Krita is a viable replacement for Photoshop when costs are considered. Krita supports vector files.
Inkscape should convert group into group layer when it comes to Krita export. If a Inkscape layer or group contains an image. It should be converted as a separate paint layer on export. For example, group/layer contains something like this.
Layer A
- Vector Object
- Raster Object
- Vector Object
- Vector Object
On Export, it should be treated like -
- Vector Layer - Contains 1 Vector Object
- Paint Layer
- Vector Layer - Contains 2 Vector Object
Likewise, on import it should be treated as reverse. However, instanced layer on Krita should be treated as a clone layer in Inkscape on import.
...and finally concedes...
...when it comes to filtered vector objects in Inkscape, Krita can't read filters, so by default only filtered vector objects should be converted into paint layer upon export.
