Copying selected object does not create new object in "Layers and Objects" window

#### Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- In default layer "Layer 1" create a closed path with Bezier curve
- Press F2
- Select object (not by clicking on it; Hower the mouse over that object while left mouse button clicked, release mouse button when object is selected
- ctrl+C
- ctrl+V
#### What happened?
- A copy of that object is created, but no new object is created in "Layers and Objects" window - no way of interacting with that object.
#### What should have happened?
- A copy of that object is created, and new object is created in "Layers and Objects" window.
