Program does not open window

Summary:

InkScape does not open on Windows. The process is visible in the task manager consuming 4,4MB of RAM. Running the program does make the currently focused window lose focus, but no window appears.

Steps to reproduce:

  • Download InkScape (I tested with the .msi installer and the portable zipped version)
  • Install InkScape (I extracted the portable version to a folder in my downloads)
  • Run InkScape (For the portable version, I tried running the batch file or the exe in the /bin folder directly)

What happened?

InkScape does not open a window, but runs in the background, visible from the task manager.

What should have happened?

InkScape should have opened the default window

Version info

Since the window does not open I cannot generate the version information. I downloaded the currently last version of InkScape 64bit from here: https://inkscape.org/release/1.3.2/windows/64-bit/

I also ran Run Inkscape and create debug trace.bat and it did not get past Gathering system info

I have run sfc /scannow several times (between reinstalling InkScape and such), which didn't produce any related results.
