Image properties text path can't be manually edited
Summary:
The image properties shows a text field with the absolute or relative path to the image file when it’s linked (not embed). Not much time ago you could manually edit that path choosing either absolute or relative and it updated on real time. Not it only works by selecting the image with the OS browser. That way is easier and obvious for beginners but when you work with a lot of linked images there is always a time that it comes so so handy to edit the path in the text field.
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- load any image, choose to link it, not embe it
- open Image Properties panel
- edit the path field with anything
- exit the field
What happened?
Your changes are reverted to the ones selected by the OS browser
What should have happened?
Let you edit the path and store your manual changes, either it really drives you to an image or not (then Inkscape shows an error with the linked image)
