Inkscape crashes on startup 0.92

When starting Inkscape, I receive an XQuartz warning message (however it's all in placeholder text (rectangles). I copied it and pasted into notes to see if it would translate it, and it reads:

'Inkscape encountered an internal error and will close now.'

I have uninstalled / reinstalled both XQuartz and Inkscape to no avail.

This just started happening yesterday out of the blue.

MacBookPro High Sierra 10.13.6

Inkscape version 0.92.2
