Cloned objects do not appear on PDF file pages.

After cloning an object I moved it to another page and placed it on a background object; I moved the layer up one level so that it was on top of the background object and moved the object to the corresponding page. Without any problem the cloned object is perfectly visible in the Inkscape window. When generating jpg and png image files it also appears perfectly. The problem occurs when generating the PDF file, the original object does appear on the first page, but on the second page the clone does not appear. I edited the PDF to see if it was an overlay and was underneath the background object, but nope. Inkscape simply ignored the cloned object when generating the PDF, as if it did not exist. I am using Ubuntu 22.04.1 LTS Inkscape 1.2. Regards.
