Keyboard Shortcut Modifier "Shift" (⇧) key - if used as a modifier key for the CMD (⌘) key - is wrongly interpreted as the Control (⌃) key on macOS
Steps to reproduce:
- On a Mac, open Inkscape 1.0alpha2
- Create two rectangles
- Select both rectangles
- Press **CMD-G (⌘G) The objects are now grouped together
- Press Shift-CMD-G (⇧⌘G)
What happened?
The borders of both rectangles are converted to (infinite) guides and both rectangles are deleted. In short, the keyboard shortcut has accidentally triggered the command Object > Object to Guides instead of the command Object > Ungroup.
What should have happened?
Obviously, the correct command should be triggered, in this case the selected group should have been ungrouped. It is interesting, that the used keyboard shortcuts are correctly displayed in the menus (see screenshots). It seems to me that the Shift (⇧) key - if used as a modifier key for the CMD (⌘) key - is wrongly interpreted as the Control (⌃) key.
This worked correctly in Inkscape 0.92.4 (5da689c313, 2019-01-14)
Inkscape Version and Operating System:
- Inkscape Version: 1.0alpha2 (4601938, 2019-08-11)
- Operating System: macOS
- Operating System version: Mojave 10.14.6 (18G87)
- German Mac-UI, but UI-language in Inkscape set to English.
