Object to path not working at all

Summary:

... I select a geomectric form, and try Shft + Ctrl + C and nothing happens. After trying the shortcut I tried to select the object, then path on the menu, then object to path and still nothing happened. Down the screen, a message appeared saying ''No objects to convert to path in the selection'' but my poligonon was obviously selected.
