Can't write with the text tool

Steps to reproduce:

• Open Inkscape.
• Click on "Text Tool".
• Click on canvas.
• Try to write something.

What happened?

It doesn't write. It only takes the keys pressed as if it were executing the keyboard shortcuts.

I need to open the text tool dialog in order to write. Sometimes it also works by clicking on the application launcher and trying to write something. But in general the only solution so far has been first.

What should have happened?

It should just write as always in the «stable» release.

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

• Inkscape Version: 1.0alpha2 (1:0.92.0+devel+201908061802+647a8ee) (From inkscape-trunk ppa)
• Operating System: Lubuntu
• Operating System version: 19.04, with Linux Kernel 4.19.63-041963-generic (vanilla, not Ubuntu)
