Inkscape 1.2: Edit -> <all guides entries> are greyed out an unusable

Summary:

I am unable to Delete All Guides, Lock All Guides or Create Guides Around the Page. Even if I have created guides, the options to delete them or lock them are greyed out and unusable. Adding a keyboard shortcut to Delete All Guides also seems ineffective.

Environment:

• Platform: MacBook Pro (13-inch, M1, 2020) - 16GB
• OS: MacOS 12.0.1 Monterey

Steps to reproduce:

1. open inkscape 1.2 with fresh document [on MacOS]
2. create a guide
3. go to the edit menu and attempt to delete all guides

What happened?

Option greyed out. All guides must be deleted manually by grabbing them and hitting delete or dragging them back onto the ruler.

What should have happened?

Option available. Guides deleted.
