1.2, a lot of UI text appears as binary tiles on M1 Macbook

Launch version of 1.2 dc2aeda 2022-05-15 on my M1 MacBook Pro running Monterey: All the menu window headings are displaying as binary 'tiles', like the font is missing. The actual menu items are fine, it's just the decriptor class.
