Crash when repositioning pane below another

Summary:

Whenever I try to reposition a pane by dragging it below another opened pane, an error message appears in a dialog box stating an error has occurred and Inkscape will quit. For example, if I open the layers pane first, then open any other pane, both panes will be stacked together as tabs taking up the entire vertical viewport when selected. If I then click and drag one of the panes to the bottom of the viewport to dock it below the other pane, the error appears.

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • [anything]
  • open a pane (e.g. layers)
  • open another pane (e.g. align)
  • click and drag either pane to the bottom to get it to "dock" below the other opened pane

What happened?

Error dialog appears stating the app will quit now because it encountered an error.

What should have happened?

The pane should have snapped into the docked position so as to appear stacked below the other open pane.

Has happened while using 2 versions, listed below.

My device is a 2021 m1 mac mini running macOS 12.3 (21E230).
