update number of nodes after simplify

This issue #4410 (moved) looks related. I refrain though from commenting there, as my needs are simpler and there is no genuine “bug”.

Summary:

The number of nodes, displayed in the status bar, is not shown after applying “simplify” to a path. You have to deselect, then select the same object again to see the changes.

Steps to reproduce:

Execute Path|simplify on a selected path.

What happened?

Nothing evil. The path is simplified alright, but the number of nodes might have changed drastically (like 61 instead of 285) without you being informed. Instead the status bar message shows a success message. That is fine, but insufficient.

Before the modification, the status bar message for a selected path contains information, a line-break and a hint.

What should have happened?

The message “1 path simplified” should be replaced by something like “1 path simplified: [n] nodes”.
