System freezes when closing from windows preview in Gnome
Summary:
At this point I want to find out if this is caused by the system, the desktop environment or by Inkscape itself. What I can say is that it does not happen for other applications.
So, what happens is that I open multiple Inkscape windows and in Ubuntu 22.04 (Jammy Jellyfish) with GNOME 41.1, when I try to close one of the windows from the windows preview popup, the entire system freezes completely, including the mouse. I have to force a shutdown and restart. Like I said, I tried this with other apps and it does not happen.
Steps to reproduce:
- open two Inkscape windows (last version from snap or even the debug version built from source)
- move the cursor over the dash and click on the app icon to see the windows preview
- click on the close (red) button. might not happen at first try but do it a few times
What happened?
Everything freezes
What should have happened?
The window should have closed
