Object highlighting on hover in Select tool

Summary

When hovering over objects, Select tool and Node tool behave differently.

Select tool does not provide any hint on what objects is being hovered on, and what object is going to be selected.

Use case

This makes object selection a tedious process, when dealing with a bunch of objects, smaller ones, or ones in close proximity from each other. Sometimes, objects are placed really closely together, with their bounding boxes nearly overlapping, and it may be hard to tell which object is which, and the process of finding the right one is time-consuming.

Trying to select the one object you want may involve a bunch of taps, trying to move an object to see if it's right one, hitting undo and trying another one, all while there's this second tap motion that reveals different transform controls. All of this is just a chore to go through, and it's something that I constantly stumble on.

Select tool would benefit from having an option that would enable highlighting of objects on hovering upon them. And, possibly from an option that would highlight objects that are currently selected (but not being transformed - it might be distracting when you're trying to move stuff around and see if it looks 'right'), as the preset "per-object selection cue" aren't too helpful.

Node tool, on the other hand, does have object highlighting on hover, and it's been really useful. So much so, that it's easier to hover, see what objects are highlighted, and select the exact object you want with precision by using Node tool, and then switch to Select tool to transform it, instead of trying to pick the right one by just using Select tool without object highlighting.
