Inkscape cannot handle drag / drop when using Windows telephony
Migrated from: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1538841
Summary:
While doing a screen share with Skype, Inkscape does not recognize drag / drop events. This especially concerns moving layers around.
Moving Inkscape to a second screen while sharing the first allows for layer drag / drops on the second screen.
Sharing screen via Firefox does not affect Inkscape meanwhile.
Steps to reproduce:
Start a screenshare of the screen with Inkscape open using Skype.
Try to drag a layer to another place.
Original description:
When using Microsoft Lync or Microsoft Skype Business Edition (Skype for Business 2015, Microsoft Lync 2013 (15.0.4771.1001) MSO (15.0.4771.1001) 32-bit Microsoft Office) on Windows 7 , when sharing screens it's not possible to drag and drop symbols from the symbol library into a new drawing.
This has been consistent behaviour in Inkscape 0.91 across several computers (3 x tested). And across earlier versions of Microsoft Lync.
We often Skype or Lync each other to discuss situations and like to be able to sketch a situation using symbol libraries we have created.
When you drag the symbol, the gray outline shows up but the symbol can't be released onto the canvas.
Happy to provide further information or a video if this would help or the situation cannot be replicated.
