Caps Lock disables the delete key
Summary:
When the caps lock is on, the delete key does not delete selected objects.
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- working on Ophiuchus.svg, designing wedding centerpieces to cut out on glowforge
- turn caps lock on, type constellation name, leave caps lock on cuz I have adhd and my workflow is a mess
- continue editing
- copy/paste illustration and stars and vertical flip
- make another copy to edit the illustration path
- select a star object to delete
What happened?
- delete key did not remove object, had to click the "-" button in the object panel to remove object
- after some experimentation, discovered the delete key worked intermittently, eventually figured out it only worked when the caps lock was off
What should have happened?
- delete key should remove object regardless of caps lock status

I recreate the issue after resetting the user preferences as outlined on the bug report instructions. Opened a blank svg, drew simple objects with the rectangle tool, and toggled caps lock while attempting to delete them. Objects will get removed if the caps lock is off, but not when on. Here's the sample file I made sans user preference. clean_sample.svg

Additionally, I have two "after-market" tweaks on inkscape - the most recent installation of inkstitch, and a custom palette.
Unrelated: I am not a developer at all. I just wanted to say how much I appreciate inkscape and how incredible it is and all of you developers are for providing this software and maintaining it. I run a makerspace at a public library and it wouldn't be possible at ALL without inkscape. I literally spend my entire work week teaching patrons how to use it. Thank you so SO much for making it!!
