High CPU usage when using Clip
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape and a cpu monitor
- after initial loading, inkscape sits there and uses very little CPU (<1%)
- create a rectangle
- create and overlapping circle
- note that Inkscape is still using <1% CPU when you do nothing
- select both shapes and select "set clip"
- do nothing: Inkscape is using a fairly high amount of CPU (30% on my system) even if you do nothing for along time
That 30% CPU usage also corresponds, at least on my system, on a slowdown of the user interface for a fraction of a seconds every few seconds
What happened?
If using clip, Inkscape using a fair amount of CPU power even when nothing is happening. This also corresponds to a slowdown of the user interface.
What should have happened?
Inkscape should use almost no CPU when the user is not interacting, as it does when clips are not being used.
