Text imported from a PDF behaves weirdly

Summary:

Text elements on the imported PDF page behave weirdly than normal text does.

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • open the file - text-tool.svg
  • select the Text tool
  • Click on some text and try to delete some characters

What happened?

  • The characters are deleted but the characters after the character we started deleting from stay there.

  • The text should have behaved like normal text element
