Problem opening Inskape with Xquartz on mac

Steps to reproduce:

I installed Inskape and Xquartz on my mac but I am not able to open Inskape, an error message is appearing on a box from Xquartz saying "Inskape had an internal error and must close now" I uninstall and reinstall both but nothing changes. When I try to open inskape (by clicking on the inskape logo on the launchpad), first the menu bar indicates Inskape (just next to the apple) and then the menu indicates Xquartz with the error message. I am putting a screen shot of the error message but the text doesn't appear, I had to copy paste in Pages to see what it was telling.

It is the first time I try to install and open inskape.

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

  • Inkscape Version: Inkscape-0.92.2-1-x11-10.7-x86_64.dmg
  • Operating System: macOS 10.14.3 (18D109)
  • Xquartz Version : XQuartz-2.7.11.dmg
