dragging wrong object

Summary:

When I click an object, keep the mouse button pressed and move the mouse to drag the object, Inkscape sometimes selects the wrong object for dragging.

Steps to reproduce:

Create a cluster of small objects (close to each other) and try to drag one of them quickly, moving it across some of the other small objects. You'll find yourself dragging one of those instead of the one you wanted.

What happened?

When I click an object and keep the mouse button pressed to drag the object, there seems to be a delay between the mousebutton-down event and Inkscape noticing that I started dragging. That's fine. But the issue is that Inkscape takes the object nearest to the mouse pointer after the delay.

What should have happened?

It should take the object nearest to the position where the pointer was when I started pressing the left mouse button.
