Adding kerning between non-ASCII characters in the Font Editor crashes Inkscape

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • go to Extensions > Typography > 1 - Setup Typography Canvas... and click "Apply".
  • go to Extensions > Typography > 2 - Add Glyph Layer...
  • include this character: a and click "Apply"
  • include this character: ą and click "Apply"
  • go to Extensions > Typography > 3 - Convert Glyph Layers to SVG font
  • go to Text > SVG Font Editor...
  • in the Kerning tab add a pair for created glyphs
  • select the pair and adjust kerning through the slider

What happened?

Inkscape crashes.

Characters are displayed incorrectly on the list:
