SVG+OTF fonts not previewing in menu and panel (Mac, 1.0a)

Tested with 1.0alpha (5e59ab6, 2019-05-06), MacOS 10.14.4

I'm testing here with the OTF+SVG font Abelone, which is free to download from Adobe, here. (I have tested with other OTF+SVG fonts and find the behavior to be consistent.)

While the font renders correctly on the canvas, the font does not preview correctly in the Text and Font panel or in the menu.

I can see the issue manifesting in three places.

Example 1

In the font toolbar menu, most fonts show a rendered preview of text in the font. This one does not; it shows a default font preview instead:

I don't know if true SVG font display in the menu is straightforward or nigh-impossible, but a good alternative to consider is to use here the (monochrome) TTF fallback font that is built into the OTF.

The following screenshot shows this same menu in 0.92, which does not support OTF+SVG, and so shows the TTF fallback -- this does preview well in the menu:

Example 2

In the Text and Font panel, again the font name does not correctly preview in the list.

(In Inkscape 0.92, the TTF fallback is displayed gracefully in the list here.)

Example 3

If you use the Text and Font panel to apply the font, the font does apply correctly and display on the canvas. However, the preview shown at the bottom of the panel shows a default font, not the correct preview.

(In Inkscape 0.92, the TTF fallback is displayed gracefully at the bottom of the panel here.)
