LPE boolean - alignment operations do not work

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• draw 2 overlapping rectangles, let's call them A and B
• copy top-most rectangle (B)
• select bottom rectangle (A) and add LPE Boolean
• paste rectangle B into LPE boolean
• select both rectangles
• go to align and align to center

What happened?

• nothing

What should have happened?

• align to center
