inkscape 1.0.2 crash internal error

Steps to reproduce

• opening inkscape. task manager shows 63MB.
• using the same window, open another svg file around 1 or 2MB and copy that to the first window.
• close the second window after copy.
• once the picture is adjusted in the primary window, rename, save. delete the picture.
• using the primary window open another svg file to adjust.

What happened?

• even though only 1 window is being used, the memory keeps increasing till 1GB before it crashes.

What should have happened?

• no crash, not as much memory increase

Inkscape and OS version

• Inkscape 1.0.2, win7, i5 core with 8GB ram
