Feature request: snap a path to itself on creation
Migrated from: https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1570856
Steps to reproduce:
- open Inkscape
- turn on "snap to paths" (or all of them if you want)
- use the pen tool to create a multi-node path
- Shift+click and continue creating a path
- Try to add a node and have it snap onto the path
What happened?
Path cannot snap to itself (except for end nodes) during creation.
Note that you can snap the end node onto the path with the node tool (but can't snap the other nodes onto the path).
What should have happened?
Allow for snapping onto self during creation, at least for the curves that are already complete.
This image is from the OP, with this feature, you could precisely snap points D, E, and F onto the path before it was done.
Inkscape Version and Operating System:
- Inkscape 1.0alpha (d7d7b926b4, 2019-04-16) Linux Mint 19.1
