Stroke Style Width Limit

Migrated from https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1735058
From 2017-11-29

Summary:

IT Support wrote...

In the Fill and Stroke window, under the Stroke Style tab, the Width field seems to have a maximum limit of 1000, no matter what units are selected.

Migrator's Notes:

Migrated purely for diligence.

  • 1000px = 26.458cm
  • 1000in = 83.333ft/27.778yd
  • 1000mm = 1m/100cm
  • 1000pica = 423,333cm
  • 1000pt = 35.278cm

Is there really a strong reason for Inkscape not to impose a stroke width limit? IMHO it's a realistic, sensible yet still generous limitation.

Will close as NOTABUG > WONTFIX unless someone can support/defend this request.
