Windows Ink compatibility on Input Devices - Pen Pressure Sensitivity do not work

Summary:

Windows Ink pen devices are not recognized on Input Devices. Pressure sensitivity do not works. Note: Windows Ink pen is not a pen tablet, it is a pressure sensitive pen that you can draw directly on the touch screen of your computer, if your screen has Windows Ink technology. I have a Wacom Bamboo Ink and Dell 7373 Inspiron Laptop.

Steps to reproduce:

  • you need a Windows Ink device (My case Wacom pen Bamboo Ink)
  • turn on the Windows Ink pen device
  • open Inkscape
  • open Edit, Input Devices
  • Check "Use pressure-sensitive tablet"
  • Restart Inkscape

What happened?

The Windows Ink pen is not recognized. I can draw with the pen like a mouse on the screen, but the pressure sensitivity do not work at all. Note: My device is Wacom Bamboo Ink (2048 levels of pressure sensitivity). Exist a new Bamboo Ink version with 4098.

What should have happened?

The Windows Ink pen device should be recognized to work the pressure sensitivity, as I have it working on some other software.
