Clip -> Set Inverse (LPE) does not work as expected on Clones

Summary:

Th consist of a rectangle and a black circle. I am using "Clip -> Set Inverse (LPE)" to hide parts of the rectangle.

For normal objects this works correctly.

For Cloned Objects "Clip -> Set Inverse (LPE)" produces different results, that look similar to a regular "Clip -> Set".

I am using Inkscape 1.0 (4035a4fb49, 2020-05-01).

Steps to reproduce:

  • Download and open setup-clone.svg
  • Select the black circle which is placed over the rectangle.
  • Shift+Select the rectangle.
  • Go "Object -> Clip -> Set Inverse (LPE)".
