Unable to snap guide to rotation center of group
Migrated from https://bugs.launchpad.net/inkscape/+bug/1776795
Hi Friends, In version 0.92.3, I am unable to snap a guide to the rotation center of a group. It does snap to the individual objects' rotation centers, but not the group's. Note that I found this bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1473306 (which I coincidently posted a comment to, regarding version 0.92.1).
The reason I'm starting a new bug report, is that the other report says that closing and opening a file should fix the problem. But in this case, I find the button does not work, in a new blank file (which contain only 2 objects in a group).
Fortunately, the other proposed fix, which is to delete something in the XML Editor, does make the snap start to work. But if I save the file, close and re-open, snapping isn't working again.
Hhhhmm....actually it's snapping to something which is identified as the rotation center....but it's not. I'll make a video - attached.
Thank you very much
PS - I thought the tranform attribute bug might be responsible for Inkscape thinking the rotation center was somewhere else (because I had preveiously rotated that group). So I created a new layer, moved the group into it, and tried again. But I get the same result, with snapping to the wrong place.
Note that now, deleting snap-center from XML Editor no longer fixes the problem. Now I can't snap a guide to the rotation center of a group, at all.
Oh wow! Curiously, I can snap the rotation center of the group to the guide anchor point. Not only that, I can do it without having any fill. Normally the rotation center of an an object with only a stroke, won't snap. But it is snapping now.
At least that will serve as a workaround, I guess.
