Cannot use keyboard commands (cmd + {a, c, v}) outside of canvas [Mac OS]

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• create objects
• change scope to text/number entries in overhead toolbar (e.g., coordinates)

What happened?

Keyboard commands like select all, copy, and paste perform actions in the canvas rather than in the scoped entry window

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

• Inkscape Version: 1.0.0
• Operating System: Mac OSX
• Operating System version: 10.11.6 (El Capitano)
