"View > Display Mode" menu items don't reflect actual state

Steps to reproduce:

  • open Inkscape
  • go to "View" menu
  • then "Display Mode"
  • click on the first menu item: "Toggle Ctrl+5"

What happened?

Window caption bar changes to reflect display mode has been changed but "Display Mode" menu stays unchanged. So actual state is not reflected on the menu.

What should have happened?

Application state should be always in-sync with the different UI widgets that reflect this state.

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

  • Inkscape Version: 1.0alpha (cba89b0d08, 2019-03-17, custom)
  • Operating System: Linux Debian
  • Operating System version: Debian 10 "buster"
