Circles are slightly square after adding Pattern Along Path

Steps to reproduce:

• open Inkscape
• draw a circle
• call up Path effect editor (Shift+Ctrl+7)
• add Pattern Along Path

What happened?

The circle is not a circle any more.

This can be almost (but not fully) resolved by first converting circle into path, then add Pattern Along Path (circle becomes a bit square as well), then select all nodes and make them symetric (Ctrl+Y).

What should have happened?

The circle should stay a circle.

Inkscape Version and Operating System:

• Inkscape Version: Inkscape 0.92.3 (2405546, 2018-03-11)

• Operating System: Linux Mint

• Operating System version: 19.3

• This happens also on Inkcape 0.92.4 (5da689c313, 2019-01-14) on Windows 10.
